Freshman AKA Fresh Meat

So as of august the 26th, 2013, I will be a freshman in high school. In some ways I am excited, but also a bit nervous. High school is a time of growing up, and aging. Also, it’s a time where I have no choice, but to decide the path in my life. It’s very challenging, but also at the same time exciting. I happen to be going to one of the top high schools in my state, but I graduated from a pretty average middle school. People are telling me that I’ll be challenged more, and be put to the test. But, I’m ready. Even if I do fail the first time around, that means that I have more to accomplish. I’m the type of person who takes no crap ; especially from myself. I want to do the best, be the best, and achieve the most. If I ever mess up, I try my best to never make the same mistake again. I’m not a perfectionist, I just want to succeed. My major goal this year is to slowly become the president of my class. I say slowly, because I can’t just jump into my new school like, ” Yeah, I’m the boss”. It takes time, and reliability. I will apply to be the pres., but I won’t get my hopes up. I feel I should become president because what I have to say is usually important and can be helpful depending on what I’m talking about. But, that’s not the only thing I want to achieve this year. here’s a basic list :
1. Have the highest GPA in my class. Last year mine was a 3.92. I am determined to beat that.
2. Volunteer at different places. My life dream has always been to make a difference in someone’s life, so that’s what I will try to do this year.
3. Become a vegetarian. Not an actual vegetarian, I mean because I will need some source of protein, but the only meat I will eat is chicken and seafood.
4. Try not to get too worked up over my grades. I expect nothing but an A from myself. This year I won’t be so harsh.
I recently added on the last one, but I am happy to try to achieve each.

Oedipus pg.16-31

During the section, the chorus of elders tells Oedipus that there is another way to find out who killed Laius. At that moment Tiresias, another well-known prophet, enters the scene. He tells Oedipus that he knows who the murderer is but will not give away any clues, So Oedipus asks why ? Do you really want to harm the citizens futher and cause destruction to the empire. After more persuasion, Tiresias tells Oedipus that he, as in Oedipus,is the murderer. So of course, Oedipus is going to question that.

The Royal Highness…… Whoop Dee Freakin Doo

Kate Middleton finally gives birth to a baby boy. The entire world is supposedly going crazy over this baby. People in the UK are going absolutely mad over the child. Posters, and every new paper has done a series on it, and every magazine has pictures. His arrival was greeted noisily in London. Crowds gathered outside of the hospital waiting to get the first glimpse. What bothers me the most is that the important news on television is being cut out in areas where the “Royal Highness” does not have control over. I mean, on national televisions newscasters will spend several minutes talking about the baby and then say, “ In further news, an airplane crashed into a six-foot tower”. I mean, I am glad that Kate successfully delivered, but no one needs that much attention.
